Refund Policy

Last updated: 20 August 2026

This policy explains when you can get your money back for Era Write credits, and when you cannot. It forms part of our Terms of Service. If your situation is not covered here, email support@erawrite.com — we would rather sort it out than argue about it.

1.The short version

Unused credits can be refunded within 7 days of purchase. Credits already spent on generated articles are not refundable. Failed generations never cost you credits in the first place, so there is nothing to refund. Expired credits cannot be refunded.

2.Credits are digital goods

When you buy a credit pack, the credits are added to your account immediately and can be spent straight away. That makes them digital goods delivered instantly rather than a subscription or a physical product, which is why the refund window is short and applies only to credits you have not used.

Remember: 1 credit = 1 word. Credits are deducted only when an article has been generated and saved to your account, billed at the lower of the length you requested and the words actually delivered, with a minimum of 100 credits per completed article.

3.When you can get a refund

We will refund you in these situations:

  • Unused credits, within 7 days. If you bought a pack within the last 7 days and have not spent any of its credits, we will refund the purchase in full.
  • Partly used packs, within 7 days. Where a pack is only partly used, we will refund the unused portion, calculated pro-rata against the price you actually paid for that pack. Credits already spent are not included.
  • Duplicate or accidental payment. If you were charged twice for the same order, or a payment went through that you did not intend, we will refund it in full — no time limit, just tell us as soon as you notice.
  • Credits never delivered. If a payment succeeded but the credits never appeared in your account, we will either add them or refund you, whichever you prefer.
  • Unauthorised payment. If someone used your card without permission, contact us and your bank; we will refund the transaction once it is confirmed.
  • A fault on our side. If a defect in Era Write charged you credits it should not have, we will restore those credits — or refund them if you prefer.

Refunds are issued to the original payment method. We cannot refund to a different card, account or wallet.

4.When you cannot get a refund

  • Credits already spent on generated articles. Once an article has been produced, the compute has been used and those credits are not refundable — including if you delete the article afterwards, or decide not to publish it.
  • Requests made more than 7 days after purchase, other than the duplicate-payment and unauthorised-payment cases in section 3.
  • Expired credits — see section 7.
  • Accounts closed or suspended for breaching our terms, including fraud, payment abuse or spam-network use.
  • Search performance. We make no ranking guarantee. Not ranking, not being indexed, or not getting the traffic you hoped for is not grounds for a refund.
  • Change of mind about a service you have already used extensively.

5.Failed generations

A failed generation does not cost you anything. Credits are deducted only after an article has been successfully generated and saved. If a run errors out, times out, or is interrupted by a worker restart, the keyword is marked "failed", the reason is written to your campaign log, and no credits leave your balance. Nothing is reserved or held while a job sits in the queue.

You can relaunch a failed keyword from the campaign screen at no extra cost beyond the normal charge for the article if it then succeeds. If you ever see credits deducted for an article you did not receive, send us the campaign name and keyword and we will restore them.

6.If you are unhappy with an article

Generated output varies. An article that reads poorly, misses the brief, or contains errors is a quality issue rather than a delivery failure, and completed articles are not automatically refundable — please review everything before you publish, as our Terms of Service explain.

That said, if a run produced something clearly broken — truncated mid-sentence, in the wrong language, unrelated to the keyword, or empty — tell us within 7 days with the campaign and keyword and we will look into it. Where the fault is ours, we will restore the credits.

7.Expired credits

Purchased credits are valid for 30 days from the date they are added to your account, unless a different validity was shown on the pack at the time of purchase. Your billing page shows the expiry date of your current credits, and credits are always spent soonest-to-expire first.

Expired credits are not refundable and cannot be reinstated. They have no cash value. If you know you will not be able to use a pack in time, contact us before it expires and we will see what we can do.

8.How to request a refund

Email support@erawrite.com from the address on your account, with the subject line "Refund request", and include:

  1. the order number or the payment reference from your receipt;
  2. the date and amount of the purchase;
  3. the payment method used (Stripe, PayPal, Lemon Squeezy or bank transfer);
  4. a one-line reason — it helps us fix whatever went wrong.

We aim to reply within 2 business days and to approve or decline within 5 business days. If we decline, we will tell you which part of this policy applies and why.

9.How long refunds take

Once approved, we issue the refund through the original payment provider on the same or next business day. After that, how quickly it appears is up to your bank:

MethodTypical time to appear
Card via Stripe or Lemon Squeezy5–10 business days
PayPal balanceUsually within 1–3 business days
PayPal funded by a cardUp to 30 days, depending on the card issuer
Bank transfer3–10 business days, longer for international transfers

Refunds are made in the currency of the original payment. We are not responsible for exchange-rate movements or for fees your bank or payment provider charges on a refund.

When a refund is issued, the corresponding credits are removed from your account balance.

10.Chargebacks and disputes

Please contact us before opening a chargeback or PayPal dispute. A chargeback takes weeks, costs both of us fees, and we can almost always resolve the problem faster by email.

If a chargeback or dispute is opened against a payment:

  • we may suspend the account and freeze its remaining credits while the dispute is open;
  • we will respond to the payment provider with our records — order details, credit ledger, generation logs and login history — as evidence of delivery;
  • if the dispute is resolved in your favour, the related credits are removed from the account;
  • we may decline to serve an account that has filed a fraudulent or abusive chargeback, and any fee charged to us by the provider may be deducted from a future refund.

11.Offline bank transfers

If you paid by bank transfer, credits are added once we have received and confirmed the payment. Refunds for bank-transfer orders are sent back to the account the payment came from, and we may ask you to confirm those bank details in writing before we send the money. Any transfer or intermediary bank fees are deducted from the refunded amount.

12.Your statutory rights

Nothing in this policy limits any rights you have under consumer law in England and Wales or in your own country. In some regions consumers have a statutory cancellation period for digital purchases, which may be waived once delivery of the digital content begins with your consent. Where a mandatory right gives you more than this policy does, that right applies.
